The message source that I see turned into a link is:

That is pure text in the message where I see the www. part showing as a
link.  It even shows as a link in this outbound message, although here it is
inactive.  It works in an inbound message.

BTW, Earthlink Webmail not only turns that into a link, it turns "http://";
into a link.  Since it links to http:///, I don't think there is a lot of
concern for that case.  Hum, I see OE is going to turn http:/// into a link,
but doesn't turn http:// into a link...
