the hack isn't specifically for multilog, it just makes timestamping the stderr
output optional.

I've redone the patch [1] (see attached v3), replacing any mention of the word
"multilog" with the word "stderr-nostamp" (which could be named almost anything
else, really).

many other applications allow logging to stdout/stderr, and either don't
timestamp their lines, or at least make it optional.  (i.e. courier-imap,
bincimap, apache, qmail, djbdns, fnord, twoftpd, etc.)

I'm open to the idea of a loggin plugin, but think that it would make changing
the logging method from the command line args difficult.
