well, the ncm (learn) and t (scan) are different operations, but
otherwise, yeah.

Possibly, it's hard to say.  This is part of my problem with bugs
reported when not using our provided code -- it's pretty hard for us to
debug/reproduce issues in code we didn't write, we don't use, etc.

I don't see how multiple m lines from the same message would go into the
journal without trying to learn the same message multiple times.
