I just wanted the message to say "you can ignore this" so people know without
having to look at code or read a FAQ that SpamAssassin will still work even
though they have something running on port 8 that caused the test to fail. I
just no that if the message says "FAIL" and doesn't say "ignore this" we will
get someone running a service on port 8 filing a bug report someday.

Actually, given the low probability of that, I think that I have already spent
more time in Bugzilla comments on this I would ever spend telling such people
not to worry about the test :-)

> The test is small, so I don't think a variable buys us anything.

That is much more minor than the "ignore this" phrase. I was just noticing that
the failure message would no longer be correct if they changed the port and ran
it again and it failed again. That is definitely a nitpicky point and I am not
pushing it :-)

And as I was posting this it collided with your marking committing it and
marking it fixed -- That's fine with me, which is why I voted 0.75 and not
negative.
