The situation was this: - I have specified x's in my user_prefs - Another user got x's in his spam - Once I got *'s in my spam Then I removed the X setting from my user_prefs, and checked that nobody else on the system used x's. Problem has not repeated itself since, to my knowledge. I suspect SA reads wrong user_prefs occasionally. Or that the spamd child process remembers old values, if it can not read the user_prefs of an user (I have had permission problems with the system, trying to run a centralized SA as nobody).
