------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2005-01-24 04:14 -------
I'm pretty opposed to the idea of putting our headers on top of the mail.

The reasons:
* As everybody noted till now, it won't fix anything as there's just too much
software out there which appends headers -- actually every piece of mail
software, including formail and every MUA I know.
* It feels wrong. Traditionally new headers were always appended to the
existing ones and only the routing information was prepended.
* Headers at the end have the advantage that they are easier to find for the
non-tech-savvy people if they really need to have a look at the X-Spam-Report.
It's already hard enough to tell them how to find the headers. I once tried
to get the exact To header from some user via phone which was quite a pain
because he didn't grok the folded headers. OTOH were all people till now able
to find the X-Spam-Report header because its simply the last one :)

All not very technical reasons which boil down to: Why should we change it
and "play nice" if it won't change anything on the big picture anyway? DK
still faces the old problem, they can't force anybody to change the whole mail
transfer software out there, so this problem has to be solved in the DK draft
and working around the problem on our side won't change anything.

Actually, I was pretty sure I also sent a suggestion about adding something
like a byte-range or number-of-headers to Mark & Co. but just noticed that
this mail still dwells in my drafts folder :-/
