The current plugin looks for obvious file attachment extensions, as well as base64 and uuencoded snippets of MS executables. It's off by default because 1) we're not an anti-virus tool, and 2) it's a time/resource suck to look for things like uuencoded MS executables. I think Quinlan was talking about making a "more complete" version.
