Daniel, is "Justin's patch" the one from comment #54? If so, I would not say
that your results show the persistence change helping the current code. The
patch does not fix much, it mostly is more sensitive at producing a warning
message when something goes wrong with the DNS even if the ip address would not
happen to match to make a false positive. With only a couple of errors
difference, I don't think there is enough data to say whether the persistence
change helps at all or whether you are seeing random fluctuations.

In any case, your results prove that the persistence change does not fix the
problem :(.

Jonathan, can you look at the patch in comment #61 and confirm whether it
disables persistence in the same way that you did?
