This has been tried several times, without much luck -- fundamentally,
while it appears that it will help, it generally results in overall
*slower* scan times, due to the overhead it incurs.

What we hope to do is "pluginize" the check() function in
Mail::SpamAssassin::PerMsgStatus, soon, which will allow third parties to
override the default method of how mails are scanned.   That way, you'd be
able to implement this, without requiring changes to core SpamAssassin,
and see how it affects scanning speed.
