hmm. there's not much we can do -- this isn't a bug in SA itself, it's
somewhere deep in DBI or a Pg lib, if not glibc -- and we can't even trap that
SIGABRT. so closing as WORKSFORME :(
however, it's very useful to leave commentary here, in case other people run
into it...
