I mentioned some of this in my previous mail, but that was generally the design we came up with at ACUS last year. sa-update was already written at that point, but not yet being used. Through discussions, we decided to change it such that all rules would be distributed through an update channel, hence the major changes between 3.1.0 and 3.1.1. The discussion now seems to be down to three things: 1) what should a development checkout look like -- should there be two separate areas which work independently? should there be a single checkout which has it all? something in between? 2) what should a release distribution look like? similar to #1 but for releases instead of development. 3) how should updates get generated? -- Randomly Generated Tagline: Windows 3.1's OS/2 support is "pathetic"...
