I say don't.
as far as I can see none of our dependency modules use File::Temp either, which
would have provided a little efficiency if that was the case. Instead, since
File::Temp is over 2000 lines of perl code, and secure_tmp*() is only 114, we'd
just be increasing our memory usage (by quite a lot) for no good reason.
laziness is a virtue ;)
