I agree. Sorry, that was too rushed and too late at night.

I just checked in a patch that is conditionalized on Cygwin and will fail safe
if somehow the code is using a symbol instead of a #define.

On reading the patch I see that the reason those two error codes are not defined
in the Cygwin patch is because the corresponding error codes do not exist in
Windows. Therefore it is not likely that the codes will ever be defined in
Cygwin. But if they ever are defined and just never used, this patch will still
work. And I added a comment to explain having the weird conditional code there.

I'll close this as fixed now. Fred, please check that I didn't break anything in
patched Cygwin, as I can't test for that, but this should compile to the same
thing that you have already tried.
