Here's a heads-up. Jeff Garzik has come up with a better way of distributing up-to-date IP geolocation information through DNS block lists. Information is available here:
http://www.netop.org/geoip.html I've released a perl module to CPAN, named IP::Country::DNSBL, which will query Jeff's server: http://search.cpan.org/dist/IP-Country-DNSBL/ The module has the same interface as IP::Country::Fast, which is already used by spamassassin. Jeff's site is currently in public beta, but I think this method will eventually provide better information than IP::Country::Fast, as it neither relies on the user updating their country-code database, nor does it rely on me providing timely updates to the database ;) Seasons greetings from sunny Qatar. --nigel
