Hmm, that's right, one benefit of the 2-account system (which I'd
not spotted) is that it automatically ensures the logs go in the right
directory.

How's about this: when someone has a user account like "jmason", we also
add a duplicate account, e.g. "rescore-jmason", at the same time, with the
same password, which stores the logs in the submit area instead of
nightly?
