Summary: FRT_OPPORTUN rules too agressive
Product: Spamassassin
Version: 3.2.3
Platform: All

eral/104888
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P5
Component: Rules
AssignedTo: [email protected]

A misclassified message caused me to look at the FRT_OPPORTUN1 and FRT_OPPORTUN2
rules. I think they are much too aggressive. A single mispelled word
"oppportunity" in a message causes both rules to fire and to score 3.7 points!
That is too much for a single clue.
I brought up the issue on the users list:

Alex Woick gave a nice analysis of the rule:
http://article.gmane.org/gmane.mail.spam.spamassassin.general/104897
I think this rule needs to be examined for validity. I am sure that the corpus
simply does not have any non-spam with this typo but just the same the rule is
probably not matching as it was intended to be written.
