That is very good to hear.
So I guess we can close this problem report
without applying any patches.

No.  Perhaps they read your PR, or received other complaints.

The whitelist_from_rcvd should work even without a domain name
(reverse DNS) in the TCP-info part of the Received header field
(or do you have something else in mind?)
