           Summary: Restart Required
           Product: Spamassassin
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P5
         Component: spamassassin
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]

On my hosted server, the SpamAssassin program must be disabled and re-enabled
periodically. At some point in time, the email stream will stop being filtered
correctly, and large quantities of spam will get thru. After the process is
restarted, the problem always appears to go away.

While it appears that someone would have to be doing this, the settings within
the cPanel control area never change. Further, changing the settings appears
to have no affect on the processes; the program must be disabled and then
re-enabled every time. However, the frequency of this necessity has not been
determined.

Since the system is a shared server, none but the customer and the service
provider should have access to any one sub-server. This appears to be either a
program breakdown, or a security issue.
