--- Comment #15 from Sidney Markowitz <[email protected]> 2010-03-09 08:27:57 UTC --- (in reply to comment #14) I think we have a misunderstanding about the meaning of the English word "corrupt". I do not mean "corrupt" like a corrupt evil person like a spammer. The word also is used with a different meaning. When data is lost or changed randomly between when it is sent and when it is received, or between when it was written and when it is read back again, the data or the file or the message is said to be "corrupted". Clearly the person who wrote this email typed the entire email address in one string. Something inserted spaces and newlines in the middle of the bankofamerica.com email address. Whatever happened is called "data corruption". The reason famerica.com was used in the URIRBL testing is that spammers include domain names in plain text so SpamAssassin looks for them. If a valid host name with a TLD such .com at the end appears in plain text between delimiter characters such as '>' or space or newline or other special characters, SpamAssassin will notice it and test it in the URIRBL rules, just like in this case. -- Configure bugmail: https://issues.apache.org/SpamAssassin/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug.
