            Bug ID: 6935
Summary: Improve handling of POP/IMAP retrieval headers
           Product: Spamassassin
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P2
         Component: Libraries
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
    Classification: Unclassified

In the received header parsing in Received.pm there is specific handling to
skip Fetchmail headers and restart the parsing on the next header. It seems to
me that this is needlessly restrictive, and I can't see any reason why similar
handling shouldn't apply to any trusted received header containing "with
(IMAP|POP)".

This not just about supporting Getmail and custom retrieval scripts for end
users, a lot of ESPs support IMAP/POP retrieval from user specified servers.
