The same difficulty, that is, as I thought someone else described.
But the only reference I find now is...

> RDNS_NONE doesn't fire because RELAYSEXTERNAL is empty

But I'm having difficulty getting it to fire even if I specify an external
relay.

I finally (while composing) heard back from my contact!

They have a bunch of plugins enabled. I can see if one of them is
related to RDNS_NONE and will report back.

I think I can persuade them to add something to match the IPv6 link-local
addresses. (Yay!) What a round-about way of tracking this down. Sorry.

There's something a little odd still about the code I do show even if it's
only relevant in other contexts. It seems to imply a bug in the IPv6
address matcher, but writing a simple perl program to match test addresses
against the various IP patterns, I couldn't demonstrate that an empty
string was recognized as an IP(IPv6) address.

Is there an actual message board I should/could have used instead of this
approach?

Should we now mark this bug as "trivial"?

==============================================================================
(Information I receivd)

It looks like our trusted networks are IPv4 only:

trusted_networks 10.
trusted_networks 172.16.
trusted_networks 129.97.
trusted_networks 192.168.128.
# Following generates a warning ("already there")
#trusted_networks 127.0.0.1

This was last touched in January 2016, to add wireless networks.

We've always ignored IPv6 as it's not enabled on the mailservices servers, but
i
t makes sense that SA should be looking at it....

init.pre hasn't changed since 2006, and its entire contents is this:
