It was pointed out to me that we should be calling the builds
"pre-release", we are not yet far enough along for something called a
"release candidate". With the build now at the point that make test
passes all tests without requiring it be in a checked out svn trunk
directory, and no open bugs showing on the 4.0.0 milestone other than
one to track the release process, I can build a pre-release 1 any time
everyone writing and committing code is at a good pausing point.
Henrik, and Giovanni, that means you, as the ones who have been
committing things. Can you please post a comment on bug 7981 saying what
you want to finish up before I cut a pre-release 1? Once you have
finished those things I'll build and (pre)release it.
