Hello,
is this a change for the dynamic rules which get downloaded
automatically or for the static ones for a newer release?
Those are not 2 distinct things. The rules in a SA release package are
just a snapshot of all of the rules at the time of that release. The
sa-update program replaces the full ruleset whenever it sees a new one
has been released.
I made changes to files in the rules subdirectory of the SA repository
and committed them. Those changed rules will go through the RuleQA
process that runs every night, and after validation the changes will
appear in the daily releases of rules that are installed by sa-update.
I'm asking so I can decide if action on sysadmin behalf is necessary.
If you are running sa-update regularly, you need do nothing else.
