At least traditionally, a lot of big money spams from outside the US put the
dollar sign at the end of the number for some reason, rather than the front
where it belongs. So the general pattern being detected is approximately
correct.
However, maybe it could be narrowed by not allowing whitespace between the
number and the $, or not hitting if there are digits after the $ as well as
before.
