Bug ID: 8493
Summary: HashBL: check_hashbl_attachments compares the part
length to minsize instead of maxsize
Product: Spamassassin
Version: SVN Trunk (Latest Devel Version)
Hardware: PC
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Plugins
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: Undefined
Component: Plugins Mail::SpamAssassin::Plugin::HashBL
Version: trunk 70be9b7dd (2026-10-29); the line dates from 6a1c8b4f5
(2022-05-18, "HashBL: add check_hashbl_attachments"), so every 4.0.x release is
affected. Reproduced with the 4.0.3 trunk snapshot 74f947dd7.
Environment: FreeBSD 15.1, perl 5.42.3
## Summary
check_hashbl_attachments()
lib/Mail/SpamAssassin/Plugin/HashBL.pm, line 1081
The maxsize test compares the part length to minsize
:
if ($opts->{maxsize} && $len > $opts->{minsize}) {
dbg("query skipped, size larger than $opts->{maxsize}");
next;
}
t/hashbl.t only exercises check_hashbl_attachments with 'sha256'
(X_HASHBL_ATT), which is why this went unnoticed.
