The package name change is from org.apache.hcatalog to
org.apache.hive.hcatalog. This will not affect the "new" shim layer which is
now in org.apache.hadoop.hive.shims.
One other thing you may need to be aware of: together with package rename, the
maven coordinates of published hcatalog artifacts will also change in the same
way.
So groupId will become org.apache.hive.hcatalog
