[~vybs] yes you are right.. We can do the RDBMS -> HFile route in Sqoop and to
another follow on MR job to convert. (we can only convert the whole data set
in HBase to Parquet everytime, as I understand). For us, at some point, we want
to ideally crank up the fetch frequency to once every few minutes, so not sure
how this two stage approach will work.
All said, +1 on this feature.. Happy to help as needed once we have an initial
design.
