The reason why we are not persisting values for configuration options that the
user did not entered is that is doesn't seem useful. It's pretty much
persisting information "this is missing" which can be easily modeled by simply
not inserting such row into database. Could you describe a bit how is it
causing you a trouble [~vybs]? We already have an update mechanism in place
(user can edit configuration) and there are no issues with storing those
updates in repository.
