A discussion is taking place on the XMPP standards mailing list about advancing the status of XEP-0071 (XHTML-IM) from Draft to Final http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0071.html
I therefore have initiated a discussion about supporting RDFa either by modifying XEP-0071 or by creating a new XEP (XMPP Extension Protocol). As RDFa only adds attributes but no elements this should be relatively straightforward.
