Hi, with the recent discussion about new features in Stanbol I want to point to some best practices that we have agreed on in Stanbol. We never made it explicit somewhere but it was mentioned in different discussions. Again this is not specific to Stanbol but was adopted from other projects.
1) Everything has to be discussed on the dev mailing list prior to any implementation action. If it is not on the list, it did not happen. 2) Create JIRA issues describing what the feature is about and how it will be implemented. This sums up the discussions on the dev list before. It is easier to refer to JIRA issues describing the implementation details for further discussions and later reference. The JIRA issue can also be used as a first kind of documentation. 3) Document the implemented feature on the website once it is finished. At latest when it comes to releases.
