Welcome Jayani It's a great time to start helping out with Stanbol. The trunk version has just switched to be the branch leading to the 1.0.0 release.

As from the issue you mention you seem to be interested in the Enhancer its a good idea to start developing an Enahncement Engine. Things are now quite a bit easier thanks to the availability of a Maven Archetype for Enhancement Engines.
