Hi Rohan,

I will try to provide you with some information for a GSoC proposal:

(1) Apache Stanbol is implemented in Java. So using non java libraries
will require some additional work (e.g. Java Native Interface
wrappers, or (RESTful) web services used to communicate with the
non-java component
(2) We can only use dependencies in Stanbol that are available in a
license compatible to the Apache Software License. Copyleft licenses
(LGPL, GPL, ...) might be possible when a (RESTful) web services is
used for the integration with Stanbol.

AFAIK the frameworks referenced by your mail do not fall into this
category so you would need to search for alternatives.

IMO the Person recognition based on detected faces would be the most
interesting multimedia enhancement engine. Especially if it would
allow users to easily train new faces (e.g. by putting images of a
person in a folder). For speech recognition there is already
STANBOL-1007 and STANBOL-1291 and also some GSoC related discussion on
the list.

best
Rupert
