Ah. I misread this question and so didn't really answer this it correctly. std::tuple inherits from __rw_tuple because the latter class template exposes the accesssors for head and tail. The public class does not expose these internal accessors. Could you move the accessors into std::tuple? Yes, if it were not for the pair specialization as I mentioned in the first reply. Brad.
