If you're seeing older codebase you can see that Storm SQL writes the codes for
constructing Trident topology and compile. I changed it to construct Trident
topology directly so understanding the code should be easier for you now.
If you don't mind to start contributing from other than core itself, I guess
you can take STORM-1459 for the first task.
Though I'm still experimenting and learning this area, please let me know if
you have any questions regarding Storm SQL via dev@ or issue comment.
