Aren't you seeing something like this in nimbus logs
Assignment: #backtype.storm.daemon.common.Assignment{:master-code-dir

:node->host {"03f5b1b7-ffeb-4ccb-96ec-b7b2a94536ca"
"supervisor1.witzend.com"}
There should be supervisor id and hostname or ip under :node->host.
