I have tried to set up the jenkins stuff myself and so has Taylor.

and I am running into issues, mostly around ruby and python not being
installed with json libraries on the jenkins build boxes, at least not
consistently enough to want to turn it on. I¹m not sure what we want to
do, but perhaps in the short term we can file a JIRA to make running the
ruby, python, and probably soon nodejs tests have a precondition on having
the particular executable/libraries installed.

As for making you a committer. I am always interested in increasing the
community with people who are happy/willing to help out. If you are
willing to make that type of a commitment I am willing to bring it up for
discussion on the private list. No guarantees though.
