o join the Sixth Hangout of Apache Stratos Incubator\n\n\nHi All\,\nPradee
p Fernando will conduct our next hangout session. Please do join.\n\nTopic
: Discussion on RESTful API for Stratos Controller\nTuesday\, 17th of Sept
 ember\, 2013 - 7.30 AM (PDT)\n\nIntroduction:\n\nAt the moment\, the Strat
os admin interfaces are tightly coupled to Carbon admin services. Hence Al
l the backend interfaces are exposed as web-services. This in turn has enc
ouraged developers to develop stratos controller front-ends as Carbon UI c
omponents.\nIt is possible to develop Stratos backend interfaces as RESTfu
l services. The initial proposal is to develop them as a seperate JAX-WS w
ebapp. But the topic is open for discusssion.\nThis would allow Stratos de
velopers to\,\n• Create front-ends (simple web-apps) that make use
of restful APIs.\n• Commandline tooling can make use of REST APIs
as well.\n\nFollowing is the agenda:\n• Carbon admin services and
how frontend components interacts with them\n• Stratos controller
API (existing) and its UI components.\n• What it takes to deploy
a web-app in Carbon kernel\n• Accessing core OSGi services by mean
 s of CarbonContext API\n• JAX-RS web-app exposing admin services o
 f Stratos - big picture\n• How Custom web-app frontend/command lin
e tooling can interact with the deployed REST apis.\n\n\n\n--\nBest Regard
