And for the GSoC project that you are interested in, it's a pre-requisite to have some understanding of Java as well as stream analytics window functions. Please refer to the issue description [3] and [4], and there I've mentioned where you can find learning materials for the same. And don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions regarding that.
