I'm def category 2... and also well aware I am the one responsible for board reports who keeps missing the sometimes-early-sometimes-middle-ish-month deadlines to submit. I often fall into the trap of, gonna try to finish this thing that's not done, so there's something worth mentioning in the report, and then oops missed the deadline try again next time.
Silly of course b/c the details of "completion" of a feature thats still months away from release is not really pertinent, but shame of neglect of something personally important is a real phenomenon. And... though it doesn't come through in magnitude or frequency of my contributions, I think this is vitally important. The emergent federated social web needs a reference implementation that can be applied, adapted, and extended for many needs, with scale and complexity largely hidden from users. This must happen, or we're all going to be stuck in en-shittified walled gardens online forward. I really do not think any AS2 or similar open-source project out there is working toward that goal. If they were, I'd be thrilled to find them and collaborate. In the meantime, I vote (and beg those reading this) to help keep this effort going and *ducks* change the world with me. I'll also note that if anyone wants to be engaged, and is more capable of timely board report submission than I've proven to be, I'd be happy to nominate them as the new PMC chair.
