before PR: reader can't process a file written by writer, only webhdfs:
scheme supported
after PR: reader can process a file written by writer, hdfs: and file:
schemes supported
pretty clear win. i'm not prepared to prioritize figuring out how to run
hdfs and webhdfs in a maven test harness at this time however.
