are you sure that the enhancement of reading config files through jars
is not something missing in the default behaviour?

Well, I guess if people have been using Struts as much as they have up until now, then no, I don't think it's missing 8^)


On the other hand, I wouldn't say that it should never be part of the default. I just think it would make the most sense and be the least disruptive to start by making the JAR config reader an alternative implementation, and then if it turns out to be stable and popular, consider rolling it in later -- rather in the same way that the struts-chain ComposableRequestProcessor has been gestating for a while in its own environment, but is now considered about ready to bring into the core.
