I think the number of frustrated developers that store a random class/bean in the Request that happens to have the Attribute name "org.apache.struts.action.REQUEST_PROCESSOR" and get a NPE is much, much smaller than the number of frustrated Weblogic 8.1 developers using Struts. However, I understand if you don't want to open to door to modifying Struts just to work around bugs in other organization's products. Hopefully BEA will fix this issue. I will post my ActionServlet modification on a BEA newsgroup so that other developers don't bang their heads against the wall the same way my team did.
