The JavaScript function validateDate() does not distinguish between datePattern and 
datePatternStrict

I'm also having problems with this in 1.2.4. The javascript that's generated 
from the html:javascript creates a function validateDate(...). That function 
does have a check to get the correct datePattern or datePatternStrict object. 
However, it seems that the generated regular expressions are the problem:

dateRegexp = new RegExp("^(\\d{2})[" + delim1 + "](\\d{2})[" + delim2 + "](\\d
{4})$");

The \\d{2} enforces datePatternStrict. For datePattern, I think we'll need \\d
{1,2}.
