Hehe, and I saw your previous message basically saying the same thing right after I sent that one :)
I agree, backwards-compatibility probably should not be a consideration here... my example in a previous message illustrates why... it would be like Microsoft saying "ok, yeah, we see this WMF flaw, and we're going to release a patch for it, but by default things will work exactly as they do now, meaning the security flaw is by default still present and active, and developers will need to set this here flag to make it secure". I don't think anyone would be OK with that answer :) If we agree it's a hole, it needs to be closed, which, as far as I can tell, necessarily breaks backwards-compatibility, it's just a question of in what way. If that's going to be the case anyway, might as well go for a "better" solution... now we all just have to agree with what "better" means in this case :) You and I agree it seems, just have to see if anyone else does :) -- Frank W.
