SAF2 is based on the WebWork 2.2 codebase, which uses Interceptors much the same way the SAF1.3 uses a Chain of Responsiblity. The huge difference is that the "Interceptor Stack" or "Request Processor" can be changed on an Action-by-Action basis. We haven't even started to decide what the feature set for a SAF3 would look like. My other post suggests that we stick to the original plan of having a "phase 1" and "phase 2". Phase 2 might be SAF3 or it might be SAF2.1. The version number is a decision we can make when the code is on the table.
