After looking further, I guess I don't see the problem:

1) getActionMappingName() is only for extracting the action name from a URI and 
has nothing to do with an Action lookup.  Perhaps you meant 
getActionMappingURI()?

2) The action attribute is cleared on every recycle, so I don't see how this 
will affect a reuse
