Hi all! I know that this discussion could sound as a provocation, but I wish you to consider dropping Struts-Tiles in Struts 1.4. The problem is that, in fact, Struts-Tiles is not very supported (just check the code style...), and the substantial changes have been made in Tiles 2. Moreover, a new plugin for Tiles 2 has been made: it is a little plugin, since the majority of code resides in Tiles 2 codebase. Last but not least, in Tiles 2 there is an effort to create a "compatibility layer", to allow using old Tiles definition files (almost complete) and old JSP tags (currently not started).
About Struts 1.4, I think that it can be considered as a "major" release (despite its number :-) ) since major features are going to be implemented/changed, such as removing the HttpServletRequest in the "execute" method of actions, reworking locale resolution, adding the rollover scope. Switching definitely to Tiles 2 would be another big change that we could do only now (or we should wait for Struts 1.5 :-) ) Thoughts?
