If you've set up the archetype catalog, you don't have to download and
install archetype to use it, just launch maven like this, e.g.:

mvn archetype:generate -DarchetypeCatalog=http://www.lenart.org.pl/maven/

take a look on http://www.lenart.org.pl/maven/archetype-catalog.xml I
think it should be easy to setup something similarly with snapshot
repo

The whole work is to checkout the current starter-archetype and
conventionize it? If so, I can do that and after all register it as a
issue with Jira, ok?
