This validator is really primordial. If this validation error is triggered, it makes no sense to process any other validators on the same field. Besides, if the conversion fails, the field itself can't even be stored.
I think we should mark this in 2.5 as shortCircuit=true because of that. Thoughts? Cheers, Paul
