It also works with an explict 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost. I think the problem is related to fact that $ host localhost localhost has address 127.0.0.1 localhost has address 127.0.0.1 Host localhost not found: 3(NXDOMAIN) returns two lines with the same address. On my debian box there is only one line (plus an ipv6 line). -- Philip
